Hickman Mills C-1 School District has partnered with Cenergistic formerly (Energy Education Incorporated) to create and implement an energy savings program. The district's energy program is a comprehensive and behavior-based approach to promoting a safe, healthy learning enviroment for our students and staff, while reducing our overall utility budget.
Energy use and rates have increased over the years. The cost of natural gas and electricity cost the school district approximately $1,500,000 a year. Energy is a consumable resource so all money spent here cannot be spent on programs and other educational expenses. Conserving energy saves in two ways:
Money saved due to reduced energy consumption can be utilized for school programs and building improvement. Conserving energy reduces our carbon foot print and saves our natural resources for future generations.
