Ms. Kucera has been in education since 2001, teaching math and social studies. She is very enthusiastic about the students, the staff, the district, and all the exciting activities planned for CODE and ACE.

She has an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and worked as a licensed CPA for seven years, before making the switch to her real passion--education. Additionally, she has earned her Master's in Education with Certification in Social Studies and Gifted Education from the University of Central Missouri.

In her spare time, Ms. Kucera likes to bike ride the Longview Lake trail, travel internationally with her husband Gordon, an airline pilot, and camp and ski (both snow and water) with her family. Although she has visited 11 foreign countries, one of her favorite trips was an "across the USA" RV trip retracing the Lewis and Clark journey from St. Louis to Astoria, Oregon. That one trip helped push her total of US states visited up to 43.

Her most memorable day in CODE so far has been the ATTACK OF THE WASPS at the top of the Liberty Memorial on the World War I class field trip.  Needless to say, she is looking to replace that "most memorable moment" with more experiences in the future.
