Ms. Phillips was a former kindergarten and first grade teacher who decided to bring her teaching expertise to the students in the gifted program. Ms. Phillips is a former CODE student herself, who attended Hickman Mills C-1 School District and attended CODE during her 3rd-8th grade years.

Ms. Phillips received her bachelor's degree from Northwest Missouri State University. She is currently working on her master's degree in gifted education from the University of Missouri.

Ms. Phillips has one son. Her hobbies include spending time with him doing such things as taking walks outside, experiencing the sites of Kansas City,and reading, reading, reading! She is an avid nature lover and enjoys being outdoors. Dancing is a passion of hers and is how she ended up in the education profession. She loves to travel and learn about different cultures and places.

Ms. Phillips is pleased to be a part of the CODE staff. She is so grateful for the support and help she gets from Ms. Hill and the other CODE teachers.

Her most memorable moment occurred over several years. It is going from a student of the program, to a teacher of the program!
