The Hickman Mills C-1 School District in Kansas City, Missouri, is soliciting letters of interest and resumes from persons who wish to be considered to fill a vacancy on the Board of Directors for the Hickman Mills C-1 School District. The Board voted to accept the resignation of a board member and move forward with the appointment process of a new member at their meeting on Thursday, September 15, 2016. This vacancy will fulfill the loss of board member Mr. Dan Osman. The appointment will be for an interim period, until the next school board election in April 2017 when the new board member will be elected for the unexpired term.
Community members who are interested in being considered for the interim appointment must be citizens of the United States and resident taxpayers of the Hickman Mills C-1 School District. They shall also have resided in the state for one year preceding their election or appointment. Members shall be at least 24 years of age.
Members of the Board shall not be delinquent in the payment of any state income taxes, personal property taxes, municipal taxes or real property taxes on their place of residence. If an applicant is a past or present corporate officer of any fee office, that office cannot be delinquent in the payment of any taxes owed the state.
Members of the Board must also be eligible to hold office in accordance with Missouri law, including §115.306, RSMo, must have not been found guilty of nor pled guilty to a felony or misdemeanor under the federal laws of the United States of America or to a felony under Missouri law or an offense committed in another state that would be considered a felony in Missouri, §115.306, RSMo, and must not be registered or required to be registered as a sex offender under Missouri law §162.014. Board members must have filed, or the treasurer of an existing candidate committee has filed, all required campaign disclosure reports with the Missouri Ethics Commission, when applicable, for all previous elections in which they were a candidate, §130.071, RSMo.
Letters of intent and resumes should include a statement regarding the applicant’s qualifications, reason for wishing to be on the Board, and the applicant’s mailing address, telephone numbers(s), and email address. All information documents will be accepted through October 13, 2016, at 5:00 PM and must be hand delivered. Documents must be dropped off at:
