YouthFriends - connects young people with caring adult volunteers in schools. A plentiful array of volunteer placements range from lunch buddy to mentor, to academic or career coach.

 

Adult GED Classes - A GED class is offered through a partnership with the Local Investment Commission. Classes are held at Hickman Mills Jr. High, 9010 Old Santa Fe Road. Business Partnerships - School/Business Partnerships strengthen the education process, enhance economic vitality and develop a greater sense of community.

Hickman Mills Educational Foundation - The mission of the Hickman Mills Educational Foundation is to ensure quality education by enlisting businesses and the public to help provide educational opportunities for students and staff.The Hickman Mills Educational Foundation was created during the 2000-2001 school year to raise, manage and distribute funds for educational programs that benefit students and staff of the Hickman Mills C-1 School District. The Foundation connects schools, businesses and community by inviting everyone to be stockholders in the educational process. WaterWorks! $100 Toilet Rebate Program

As part of the City’s efforts toward energy efficiency,WaterWorks! is offering $100 rebates to Kansas City, Missouri residential property owners and tenants after the purchase and installation of an approved high-efficiency toilet. By upgrading your standard toilet to a high-efficiency model, you can save approximately 6,000 gallons of water per year. For your convenience, the rebate application, including guidelines and instructions, is attached. Please also take advantage of the free toilet recycling program (recycle it as concrete), see application for details.
