One Step Closer to the Future We Want
Congratulations! The community said they believe in you and the work you are doing with our students and approved the financial resources for you to keep moving the system toward the future we all want. Last night, voters approved a no-tax-increase general obligation bond for 20 million dollars for school improvements with a 76.1 percent “yes” vote. With a 66.2 percent “yes” vote, the voters also approved a 1.35 tax levy increase. The tax levy will allow the district to increase salaries for all teachers. HMC-1 teachers' salary scale will now be number one among area school systems. The levy will also provide a significant raise in pay for non-teaching staff. We will address some of our facility issues with the approval of the GO Bond. The priority of the bond will be to address the district’s middle school redesign facilities plan, including the future goal of establishing two middle schools in the district...
