#ATTENDANCEMATTERS: HMC-1 is taking on chronic absences through our “Let’s Be Present…Attendance Matters” campaign. Throughout September, you will receive information and tips on ensuring your student is at school. If you think missing a day here or there won’t matter, think again. Absences add up quickly. By missing just one day every two weeks, you would be on track to miss nearly a month of school for the year! Click here to learn more.
Book Fair Coming Soon: The Fall Book Fair will be held October 2-6 in the Media Center from 8-2 daily. Parent Night is October 5th from 4-6. We hope to see you there!
Penny War Begins: September 13 to November 13 students are invited to bring in pennies to collect for Harvey Relief. Portions of the proceed will be sent to partnering schools in Houston. The class who collects the most will win a school party!
Dress to Impress: Fall pictures will be taken on October 16th. Dress to impress and look your best.
NEW HARASSMENT & BULLYING POLICY POSTED: Important information related to changes in Missouri criminal codes has been posted to the District's website. These changes may have an impact on students in the HMC-1 community. The purpose behind the new laws is to protect students who fall victim to bullying and to discourage students from engaging in any sort of physical altercations.
As of January 1, 2017, substantial revisions to some of the Missouri criminal codes took effect. Please see the newly posted policy for details and answers to frequently asked questions.
