New Program Encourages Student Attendance
HMC-1 is launching a new friendly competition between schools to increase attendance throughout the district. Many school districts across the country have seen a post-pandemic drop in morale and lagging attendance.

Superintendent Presents $400 Check to Above and Beyond Student
Superintendent Yaw Obeng recognized Burke Academy’s Dawn Mays, as the September Above and Beyond student. Mays is the first graduate of the Class of 2023.

Internet and Laptop Assistance for HMC-1 Families
This program provides eligible households up to $30/month (or $75/month for households living on Tribal lands) for their internet bills. It also provides a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet.

Ervin Elementary School Receives a Royal Donation
Students at Ervin elementary school received new backpacks to start the year thanks to former Royals' President of baseball Operations Dayton Moore. The longtime Royals executive has served the community over the years through his See You in the Major League foundation.
