  • UPDATE - RADON MITIGATION COMPLETED: Mitigation systems at Dobbs Elementary have been installed in areas previously identified as having high levels of radon. The Surgeon General, EPA, Centers for Disease Control, and other health organizations recommend radon levels be under 4.0 pCi/L. We are pleased to say follow-up testing shows radon levels are now 1.8 pCi/L or less.

  • LAST DAY OF SCHOOL - JUNE 1: Due to inclement weather this past January and February, the District closed school a total of five days. This time off is required by the State of Missouri to be made up to ensure students receive the proper amount of instructional time. The last day of school will now be Friday, June 1, 2018, and is a half day for students. There will be no school Monday, May 28 in recognition of Memorial Day. Attendance is vital to your student's success. Please ensure they attend class through the end of the year.

  • KICKBALL TOURNAMENT: Thursday, May 10th, 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Come watch the teachers play against the students in a high-paced game of kickball.  Admission is $1.  A concession's stand will be available for refreshment.  To learn more, click on Kickball Flyer.

  • BLUE RIDGE MID-CONTINENT LIBRARY "HOW-TO" FAIR: It’s almost time for our second How-To Fair at Blue Ridge, and you’re invited!  The Fair will be held on Saturday, April 28th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The How-To Fair is a fun, free and informational event for all ages.  Connections to Success will be at the Fair, and the CTS staff is bringing its Moxi Travelling Boutique.  CTS will provide suiting for job hunters free of charge (based on sizes available) and a voucher for participants they can’t assist on the day of the Fair.  There’s something for everyone, including a free book for each child in attendance.  Please tell your neighbors and friends, and we hope to see you there.   • BASKETBALL CAMP: The Ruskin High School coaching staff will be conducting a spring camp April 16-19 for all students entering grades 2nd-6th in the fall of 2018. This camp is designed to improve fundamental individual skills, facilitate community and team building, and to promote leadership while enjoying the game of basketball. Students will have fun and educational atmosphere designed for elementary-aged students.   • EARLY CHILDHOOD/PRESCHOOL SCREENINGS & ENROLLMENT: HMC-1 is offering FREE early childhood screenings to children ages three to five. Screenings will be held April 23 & 24May 2 & 3, and a variety of appointments times are available. Please call (816) 316-8560 during 9:00 am – 2:00 pmbeginning March 19, 2018, to make your appointment. If your child turns 4 years old on or before July 31, 2018, you may also enroll them in the early education program during your appointment.   • RADON MITIGATION UPDATE: On February 26, the HMC-1 Board of Education approved the contract of a radon mitigation company. We will provide an update once dates for mitigation installation are finalized.
