COMMUNITY
Education Foundation
The Hickman Mills Educational Foundation was created during the 2000-2001 school year to raise, manage and distribute funds for educational programs that benefit students and staff of the Hickman Mills C-1 School District. The Foundation connects schools, businesses and community by inviting everyone to be stockholders in the educational process. The foundation is a 501(c) (3) organization.
Facility Usage
Use of district facilities is a privilege, not a right. No community group will receive access without first obtaining proper approval. Community groups may request to use district facilities. By definition, community groups are governmental entities and nonprofit organizations operating in or located in the district. Priority will be given to groups or activities that directly benefit district students. Use of district facilities will not be granted if the use conflicts or interferes with a district-sponsored activity, and all uses granted are contingent upon the district's needs.
Get Involved
In HMC-1, Community Engagement is a journey that blends the preservation of the district's historical strengths with the pursuit of new growth opportunities. This transformative path has led to a community engagement process, with a clear focus on achieving the strategic objectives outlined in the Comprehensive Strategic Improvement Plan:
Share Feedback
Being a good neighbor and community partner is a top priority of HMC-1. Therefore, community members who have feedback, questions, concerns, or a complaint are always welcome to contact the district through the process outlined below.
Mentoring
One Mentors is a transformative program at HMC-1, designed to connect students with caring, dedicated mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, and support. Through regular check-ins, goal-setting, and relationship-building, One Mentors helps students stay motivated, build confidence, and navigate academic and personal challenges. By fostering strong connections between students and trusted adults, One Mentors creates a positive impact on student success, well-being, and future opportunities.
Community Flyers / Peachjar
To enhance access to programs and resources that positively impact the trajectory of our students' lives, HMC-1 is utilizing Peachjar's services to post approved flyers on each school's website. Peachjar helps ensure accessibility to important information and announcements for parents, guardians, students, and staff. The Communications and Community Engagement Department has outlined the following information and guidelines regarding utilizing the Peachjar platform.
Purchasing and Bids
To provide quality service through effective communication and a cooperative working relationship with all departments and vendors, in order to fulfill the needs of Hickman Mills C-1 School District for goods and services in a professional, responsive, timely and cost effective manner, and in accordance with all legal requirements, ethical standards and Board of Education Policies.
Sunshine Request Records
The Sunshine Law represents a commitment to openness and transparency as represented in Chapter 610 of the Revised Statutes or Missouri. The Office of the Superintendent is the custodian of records for the district and works in collaboration with the Communications Department to receive and respond to open records requests. In order for individuals to have access to public records, each public governmental body is required to make their custodian’s name and contact information available upon request.
