HMEF Scholarship & Grant Program
The Foundation distributes approximately $40,000 annually in incentive grants for teachers and staff of the Hickman Mills C-1 School District and scholarships for seniors from Ruskin High School (approximately $20,000 is allocated between the two distributions). The grants and scholarships could benefit almost all students and well over 200 teachers and staff in the district.
All scholarship and grant applications, forms, and required information are due to the Hickman Mills Educational Foundation at the Administration Center by the 1st Friday in March. The Educational Foundation offers a creative and flexible opportunity to provide resources and support to the students and teachers in the Hickman Mills School District.
Fundraising
The Hickman Mills Educational Foundation works year-round to support students and teachers through creative fundraising and community partnerships. Every effort, no matter the size, helps open doors for our students and enhances classrooms across the district.
Through the Dollar for a Scholar program, HMC-1 staff can make a direct impact by contributing as little as $1 per pay period through payroll deduction. These funds go toward senior scholarships and teacher classroom grants, empowering both students and educators to reach their goals.
The Foundation also hosts a variety of community fundraising events, including a monthly 50/50 Raffle at the Optimist Club’s Bingo night and volunteer shifts during Longview’s Annual Christmas in the Park, where donations are collected from opening to closing night. Contributions also come from class reunions and gifts made in honor or memory of former classmates, helping carry forward the spirit of giving that defines our community.
Behind the scenes, the Foundation continues to seek grants and sponsorships to expand scholarship opportunities and classroom support.
Every dollar donated helps shape brighter futures. Join us – make your gift today to support students and teachers in Hickman Mills. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
