Communications and Community Engagement
The Communications and Community Engagement Department (CCE) increases and improves communications within Hickman Mills C-1 Schools by using a comprehensive approach that prioritizes sharing the district message to all stakeholders, which include students, families, teachers, staff, administrators, government agencies, civic groups, community partners, and volunteers.
Responsibilities & Services

Internal Communications: Delivering information to HMC-1 employees, students, and parents. This includes employee newsletters, and memos, maintaining district calendars, delivering district e-mails, and producing other communication materials and documents for HMC-1 employees, students, and parents.

Web & Digital Communications: Delivers important messages to stakeholders through the effective use of digital platforms and the most recent technology. The team develops and maintains more than a dozen HMC-1 websites, along with creating and maintaining digital communications resources.

Multimedia Communications: Strives to deliver important messages to HMC-1 stakeholders through relaying information or entertainment that includes many different forms of communication. Multimedia communication produces original content for HMC-1.

External communications: Advertising and media relations tactics that promote HMC-1 and drive awareness of its brand and services. The team carries out promotional and advertising strategies for the district and schools. The team also uses news releases, press conferences, and speaking engagements to make the public think favorably about HMC-1.

Strategic Communications and Outreach: Helping families and employees understand how local, regional, and national policies directly affect students, schools, and communities. We are thought partners who provide strategic communications support to HMC-1 departments.

Community Engagement: Enhance and build relationships and partnerships with important audiences in the metropolitan area. This is done through consistent two-way communication with key organizations and business communities

Creative Services: Providing creative services specifically to ensure materials are compliant with the HMC-1’s branding standards, while at the same time reflective of the district’s mission and message.

Event Planning: Communications hosts district-wide events and offers event and protocol expertise to the HMC-1 School District community. The team is responsible for developing, scheduling, and planning all major District events on behalf of the Superintendent.

Customer Service: The communication teams respond to stakeholders with questions, complaints, or suggestions about the HMC-1 system. Customer service provides specific information regarding the schools, programs, and services offered by HMC-1. This is accomplished by answering phones and responding to communications emails in the language of mindfulness.

Training: The communication teams offer training in the areas of Digital Communication, Websites, Messaging, social media, Google and more.
