The Division of Operations is a multifaceted department responsible for overseeing critical areas that support the district's smooth functioning and success. It encompasses Business, District Support Services, Information Technology, Safety, Buildings and Grounds, Nutrition Services, and Human Resources. This division plays a vital role in ensuring efficient operations, maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment, and fostering a productive and motivated workforce. The Division of Operations is dedicated to optimizing resources, enhancing operational excellence, and ultimately contributing to the overall achievement of our educational goals.
Departments
The Department of Athletics provides oversight for all district athletic and activity programs, ensuring students have access to safe, inclusive, and competitive opportunities that foster growth, teamwork, and school pride. The department also manages event operations and compliance, helping students thrive both on and off the field while supporting coaches, sponsors, and staff in creating meaningful extracurricular experiences.
The Department of Business and Finance manages and oversees the district's finances to ensure financial stability, equitable spending, and compliance with district policies, as well as the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the State of Missouri. The department is vital in ensuring the smooth functioning of the district's budget, payroll and benefits, accounts payable and receivables, purchasing, and federal program.
The Custodial team coordinates cleaning services, monitors safety protocols, and ensures compliance with building codes and regulations.
The Information Technology Department strives to manage, support, and maintain the technological infrastructure, systems, and resources for the HMC-1 district. The technology department collaborates closely with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to support the integration of technology and enhance the educational experience.
The Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and upkeeping the school's facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, libraries, sports facilities, and administrative buildings.
The Nutrition Services team coordinates meal planning and development, procures food supplies, and implements nutritional guidelines. They may also oversee the cafeteria or outsourced food vendors to ensure quality standards are met.
Maintaining a safe environment is a top priority. The operations department develops and implements safety protocols, emergency response plans, and drills. They oversee safety measures, including access control systems, surveillance cameras, and visitor management processes, to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors.
The Department of Transportation manages the district’s student transportation system, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient travel to and from school each day. The department oversees bus routes, driver training, safety protocols, and compliance with state and federal regulations. These efforts are crucial in supporting student attendance, fostering family trust, and ensuring equitable access to education across the district.
