Division of Academics
The Division of Academic Services provides instructional guidance across all grades (PK-12th) and subjects. Collaborating with building principals, district coaches, and teachers, the Academic Services team assumes responsibility for developing, implementing, and monitoring the district's curriculum and assessments. Instructional plans are designed to align with the approved curriculum, incorporating current research-based strategies and surpassing MSIP standards.

The Department of Academic Services maintains effective partnerships that build capacity in schools and expose students to a rigorous curriculum that meets college and career readiness expectations. As a department, we provide support to leaders, teachers, and schools so students achieve 21st Century competencies.
Department of Extended Learning
The Department of Extended Learning is committed to providing enriching opportunities that extend beyond traditional classroom instruction. Our department offers a diverse range of services, including before and after-school programs, summer enrichment camps, and community partnerships aimed at enhancing the educational experience for students of all ages.
Department of Elementary Education
The Department of Elementary Education serves as a cornerstone in fostering a nurturing and effective learning environment within our school. Committed to the academic and personal growth of our youngest learners, this department oversees curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices tailored to elementary-grade levels. From facilitating professional development opportunities for teachers to ensuring the alignment of curriculum with state standards, the department strives to create engaging and rigorous learning experiences for students. Additionally, it coordinates support services, such as counseling and special education, to meet the diverse needs of our elementary students. Through collaboration with teachers, parents, and community stakeholders, the Department of Elementary Education is dedicated to cultivating a love for learning and laying a strong foundation for lifelong success.

The Department of Student Services is multifaceted, with various programs and services to support students and their families. These services and programs promote both academic needs as well as basic needs that may impact school performance.
Curriculum and Instruction Team
Our Curriculum and Instruction team is dedicated to ensuring the delivery of high-quality education across all grade levels within the Hickman Mills C-1 School District. Comprising three key pillars—Curriculum and Assessment, Professional Development, and Instructional Technology—we work collaboratively to support teachers and staff in their mission to provide engaging and effective instruction to our students.
Secondary Education Team
The Secondary Education Team plays a crucial role in guiding the academic and personal development of students in middle and high school. This department oversees curriculum design, instructional planning, and assessment practices tailored to the unique needs and developmental stages of secondary students. Working closely with teachers and administrators, it ensures the delivery of rigorous and engaging instruction aligned with state standards and college and career readiness benchmarks. Additionally, the department coordinates support services such as counseling, career guidance, and extracurricular activities to promote holistic student success. By fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment, the Secondary Education Team equips students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to thrive academically and transition successfully to post-secondary pursuits.
Data Team
The Data and Accountability Team collects, analyzes, and interprets data to inform decision-making, enhance educational outcomes, and ensure accountability. The team is pivotal in leveraging data to drive evidence-based decision-making, support student achievement, and ensure accountability within HMC-1.
