It’s not a complicated customer service program. It’s simply a different way of thinking about how we serve the people who count on us and how we work together as colleagues.

A kind word. A helpful answer. A quick phone call. A smile in the hallway. Taking an extra minute to listen.
Small things can have a big impact.
The experience someone has with a single HMC-1 employee can shape how they feel about an entire school, department, or district. When we make people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for, they remember it.

If you see a colleague who goes above and beyond to make a positive difference for a student, a family member, a community member, or a fellow staff member, tell their story.
Through The Difference is Me, you can nominate a colleague who made an interaction memorable for all the right reasons.
It doesn’t have to be a huge accomplishment. Sometimes the most meaningful moments are the simplest ones.
Just tell us what you saw and why you thought it mattered.
Each month, a team of HMC-1 staff members and district leaders will review the nominations and recognize up to three staff members who demonstrated what it means to make a difference.
