Because the safety and security of your child(ren) at Ingels Elementary are paramount, we are sending you some IMPORTANT information about transportation home for the 2020-2021 school year.

IF YOUR CHILD IS A CAR RIDER:

Drop off and pick up will be at the front entrance to the building.  Students cannot be dropped off prior to 7:25 unless students are enrolled in LINC. LINC students will enter through the side entrance by the LINC signage, parents may park in the side lot for LINC sign in. 

Students who are being picked up at school dismissal will exit the front of the building.  Please enter at the first entrance and fall into line, we will only have one line for car riders this year.  A cone will be placed on the sidewalk to indicate where the line begins. Please remember to utilize all safety precautions as you patiently wait for your child (keep the car in park, limit cell phone use, watch for pedestrians, etc…)

1. Car Riders will be dismissed at approximately 2:35 PM. Students can be picked up from our car rider location until 2:45; after that students are considered late pick-up and can be picked up from the front office.
2. Designated staff will call for your child as you arrive, he or she will be sent to the staff member on the sidewalk to be escorted to your car.
3. Parents will not be permitted to walk up and pick students up from the sidewalk area of the school or wave your child to the car from the street or parking lot. All students must be picked up through the car line. 
4. If someone other than you is picking up your child(ren), you MUST call the school office and they will be required to show ID.  Please inform them, they must show ID.

IF YOUR CHILD RIDES THE BUS HOME:

Bus riders are escorted to the bus by their classroom teacher, ensuring that each child gets on the bus safely. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Apple Bus Company at (816) 315-0888

IF YOUR CHILD WALKS HOME:

All students who walk home are escorted to their designated exit and are supervised to the property line of the school.  Please make sure your child knows the path home, their phone number and home address in case of an emergency.

IF YOU ARE CHANGING YOUR CHILD’S TRANSPORTATION HOME, WE NEED NOTICE FROM THE PARENT BY PHONE OR IN WRITING.    TRANSPORTATION CHANGES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER 2:15.
