Why I Chose Education as My Career of Choice

I chose Education as my career because I knew I wanted to leave an imprint on future generations by helping students realize their own potential and develop their unique skills to become the best version of themselves. Education is so important in our society for our young to develop a key skills to be successful and influential in the world: communication, respect, discipline, and collaboration. As I am teaching a subject that deals with the voice and creating music, I knew my classroom could be an opportune place to learn these skills as students have to learn to collaborate, express, and making music takes a lot of discipline.  Additionally, I saw the music classroom as a space for many students to be able to discover their unique abilities and find a connection with one another, as well as the community around them. I believe music is a doorway to self-discovery, as well as, a way to communicate personal stories and passions with others in a way that can make a positive impact and be a source for change.

Personal Interests

I love spending time with my family, I am the youngest of eleven siblings and have 18 nieces and nephews in counting! I enjoy singing at all times, performing, and public speaking. I love to go social dancing: East Coast Swing,  West Coast Swing, and Salsa are my favorites. I enjoy watching Netflix, playing tennis, volleyball, and eating Mexican food as often as possible.
