ENTRY TO ENGLISH
This program offers literacy classes to adults learning the English language. Classes are currently taught at two levels and teach fundamental reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Students English literacy skills are assessed prior to class enrollment to ensure students are taught at a level that fits their needs. A qualified instructor leads the class and volunteer tutors support students by individualizing the lesson for each unique learner.
Math classes are led by volunteer instructors and tailored to the math level of each student. Math is open to the public and taught at a variety of times and days each week.
DIGITAL LIFE SKILLS
Literacy KC's computer lab is open to the public Monday-Thursday 8:30-7:30 and Friday-Saturday 8:30-1:30. We offer daily Help Hours for students to get individualized help from a digital volunteer as well as basic and advanced digital classes each week. Student can earn a free or reduced-price laptop by participating in digital classes!
CAREER ONLINE HIGH SCHOOL
Students can earn an accredited High School Diploma and attached Career Certificate completely online with Career Online High School. Literacy KC has partnered with Mid-Continent Public Library and Kansas City Public Library to offer scholarships for Career Online High School to individual's throughout Kansas City.
