  • Check Out Policy

Students are allowed to check out two books each week if they return their books from the previous week.  All students are encouraged to check out one just right book and then one "fun" book of their choosing.  If books are not returned on their library day, then they may check out at another time when they return them.

    Award Books

Kindergarten, First and Second Grade are listening to the Missouri ShowMe Reader Award Nominees so they may vote on their favorite book.  All the votes are sent to the Missouri Association of School Librarians (MASL) to be added to all the other votes around the state to find the favorite of Missouri children.

Third Grade is listening to the Great Kids Can Read Award Nominees sponsored by the Greater Kansas City Association of School Librarians (GKCASL) so they can vote on their favorite.  Their votes are added into all the other votes in the metro area to determine the favorite in our area.  This was created to target third grade readers as they transition to chapter or higher level reading books.

Fourth and Fifth Graders have the opportunity to read the Mark Twain Award Nominees.  If they read at least four of these books, they may vote on their favorite.  Votes will be sent to the Missouri Association of School Librarians to add to the votes in the rest of the state.
