ESL Welcome Center

Welcome to the HMC-1 Welcome Center! HMC-1 is dedicated to ensuring our multilingual learner families have the supports they need within the classroom and the community. Our Welcome Center is designed to help provide enrollment support, interpreter services, community resources, and much more. 

We serve all new and returning HMC-1 who students qualify for English Language Development Services. Including immigrants, refugees, and multilingual learnings from Pre-K through 12 grade. We are here to help and make your transition smooth and welcoming.  
 

Multilingual Enrollment Services
Our multilingual enrollment services team is here to help new and returning families through every step of the enrollment process. We assist with completing enrollment applications, explaining which documents are required, and providing translation for birth certificates, school records, vaccine cards, and more. Our team can also help schedule vaccination appointments or request exemption forms. Throughout the year, we support families in keeping their information up to date with the Residency Department, including address or contact changes.

• Help new and returning families to fill in the Enrollment application
• Communicate with parents regarding the list of the documents required to enroll
• Translate Birth certificates, school records, vaccine cards, and all the other documents required
• Help to get an appointment for shots or for getting an exemption form
• Assist families to pass the updated info to Residency department throughout the year (i.e. change of address, updated info required)
