  • Research shows that students can lose 2.6 months’ worth of math skills over the summer. Beginning June 17, students will have the opportunity to keep their math skills sharp by participating in the Missouri Summer Math Challenge. They can earn badges for mastering math concepts and earn a certificate to celebrate their accomplishments when the challenge ends on July 26. Students and parents across our state will work together on the challenge. Parents, you can register your child by going to quantiles.com/summer-math and following the instructions.

  • DEVICE DROP-OFF & BELONGINGS PICK-UP: HMC-1 students with district-issued hot spots, iPads, and MacBooks must return those items to Smith-Hale or Ruskin during designated times May 27-30. 

    During this time you may also retrieve student belongings and return library books, etc. at the student's home school. See our flyer (PDF) or the website calendar for details.

  • SUMMER SCHOOL JUNE 1-25: Applications for summer school are now available online. Summer school will run June 1-25, Monday through Thursday and will be 100% online. The last day to submit student applications is May 15. More details are on the Summer School page.

  • Parents, please give your student permission to use the online resources using their school sign in to access Mid-Continent Public Library Online Resources during Online Registration.  There are a lot of amazing free resources available: research databases, eBooks, TumbleBooks, audio books, and homework help.

  • SCHOOL CLOSURES: Missouri Governor Mike Parson has mandated schools close for the remainder of the academic year. Students should continue learning through HMC-1's Flexible Learning Plan, available on the district website. Choice boards for the remainder of the year have been posted. Please watch your email and the website for additional announcements.
