Summer Food Program Provides Free Meals for Kids

With summer right around the corner, it’s time to think about keeping children healthy while school is out. The Hickman Mills C-1 School District (HMC-1) provides free meals to children during the summer.
This summer, the HMC-1 Nutrition Services team will serve breakfast, lunch, and supper meals June 13-28, Monday through Friday. Serving times vary by site; please check at each building. There are no income or registration requirements. Any child under age 18 may come eat for free.
Summer 2019 Open Serving Sites:
- Ervin Early Learning Center – 10530 Greenwood Rd, Kansas City, MO 64134
Breakfast: 8:00-8:30 am; Lunch: 12:30-1:00 pm; Supper: 4:15-4:45 pm
- Johnson Elementary – 10900 Marsh, Kansas City, MO 64134
Breakfast: 8:00-8:30 am, Lunch: 12:15-12:45 pm; Supper: 4:15-4:45 pm - Millennium at Santa Fe Elementary – 8908 Old Santa Fe Rd, Kansas City, MO 64138

Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Department of Health & Senior Services partners with local organizations like the Hickman Mills C-1 School District, to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer.
