'We Heart Teachers' HMC-1 Awardee!
Congratulations to Kristi Howery, Truman Elementary Fifth Grade teacher, for being recognized as one of Arvest Bank’s “We Heart Teachers” awardees!
Arvest Bank asked the community to nominate deserving teachers to win $500 for their classroom as part of their “We Heart Teachers” campaign. This campaign was designed to recognize, and provide support to, teachers throughout the Arvest footprint.
This year, Arvest awarded a total of 157 $500 gifts to individual teachers to support classroom needs throughout Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Ms. Howery was one of those 157 honorees.
“It means a lot to me to win this award,” said Ms. Howery. “I know there are thousands of teachers out there working hard every day, especially right now, to do their best for their students. To know that someone nominated me, and that Arvest Bank felt I was deserving, makes me proud.”
This school year marks Ms. Howery’s first time back in the classroom as a teacher, having spent the past four years as an instructional coach. “I really missed the classroom,” said Ms. Howery. “So this year I went back and I haven't regretted it, even in the virtual environment. I enjoy getting to know my students, watching them learn and grow, and I just love teaching them!”
Thank you for your continued dedication and support of your students, and making a difference in the classroom both big and small.
