Ruskin Senior Recipient of Two Prestigious Scholarships
Senior Corey R. is truly a shining star in Ruskin High School Class of 2021. Corey is part of the collaboration between Ruskin’s and Avila's Upward Bound Program through TRIO. Upward Bound provides fundamental support to student participants in preparation for their higher education career.
Last summer, Corey participated in Upward Bound’s Summer Excellence Institute, where he began the process of writing scholarship applications. He dedicated his focus and commitment to two specific scholarships at the onset of this school year. Corey's devotion and hard work paid off when the Horatio Alger Association awarded him their National Scholarship for $25,000. Weeks later, Corey found out he was one of 500 students nationwide to be awarded the Dell Foundation Scholarship for $20,000. Congratulations Corey! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see how you continue to make us #HMC1Proud!
